De Leon Studio announces its annual baby and children contest running March 10 to April 10. Prizes totaling 96 dollars will be awarded, with full details in the advertisement on page 3, Section Two.
Over the past week several patients were admitted for major and minor surgery and medical care. Major surgeries included Mrs. Flip po, Mrs. Riordan, and Mrs. Brown Rambo. A new mother and baby girl were welcomed: Mrs. Robert Grimes.
Wayne Evridge of Comanche and Hudspeth County ranching interests represented the Comanche County NFLA at the Federal Land Bank of Houston stockholders meeting in Houston on February 11 12. The Land Bank owned by 144 Texas NFLAs plans a 30th anniversary this spring. The meeting focused on NFLA operations and their role in supplying safe long term credit to landowners.
Over 30 years Texas has issued 477.65 million in Bank and Land Bank loans with many borrowers achieving debt free farm homes. Federal Land Bank loans require repayment on or before due dates without penalty. Comanche County shows 33800 in farmer capital and 36608.49 in surplus. 16 percent dividends were paid to members in the past year. The Comanche City Council ordered an election at City Hall on the first Tuesday in April to elect City Secretary two Aldermen Mayor City Marshal and City Recorder. Incumbents J. H. Tupin and Oswell Brightman term expirations noted. Candidates must file with the City Secretary at least 30 days before election day. Election Judge S. W. Switzer appointed. Mayor W. C. House Secretary E. L. Curb.
