The Comanche County Commissioners Court invites bids from banking corporations and associations for a two year fund depository for Comanche County Texas. Proposals must show interest rate and be received by County Judge H D Lane by 10 am on February 30 1945.
The Chief notes a new shipment of telophane tape in half inch and one inch rolls has arrived.
Indian Creek reports frequent family visits as Mr. and Mrs. W A Langley and sons Gerald and Hackie host Pvt Nolan Langley of Georgia and other relatives. Nolan departs for Fort Benning, Gerald and Hackie visit Asbury Redwine. Sunday School at 10:30 and a Quarterly Conference with Rev A S Gafford.
The Fort Worth Press is offered for five dollars a year or five dollars and seventy five cents with The Chief. The Star Telegram may not take new subscribers due to a newsprint cut. Harold and Mrs Pierson and Roger Pierson visit. attendees from Comanche Harmony Sidney and Soda Springs attend a noon business session. next Quarterly Conference to be held at Sidney.
A Patrick Flood, State Salvage Manager based in Austin, visited Comanche to urge nationwide efforts to conserve paper. He noted critical scarcity and rising demands and called on all citizens to save waste paper and donate or sell it to civic groups. He praised local salvage work with over 55 carloads shipped and stressed timely paper needs for war, urging further action.
