The Sipe Springs revival closed Sunday with preaching and gospel singing. A church lawn lunch followed by a watermelon slice and a large turnout for the monthly community meeting highlighted weekend activities.

J. G. Curb 81 Dies After Long Illness in Belton
J G Curb longtime Mills County resident and Bamont farmer dies at 81 in Belton following months of poor health. He moved from Keyes Valley to Pompey Mills County and lived in Comanche. Survived by four sons W R Curb M L Curb O L Curb and E L Curb and by siblings and four sisters. Funeral services were held August 10 in Brownwood with Baptist ministers in charge. Burial in Duren Cemetery Mills County. He was married to Nancy Elizabeth Maxwell in 1893.
