Pfc Jessie Barnard son of Mrs C C Barnard of Comanche has returned from Germany with the 8th Infantry 4th Division. He is on a 30 day furlough visiting Fort Worth Coryell County and his mother before reporting back to Fort Sam Houston. He has three brothers and a brother in law in the armed services: Pvt Floyd Barnard Sgt Louis Barnard Pvt Hue W Barnard and Pfc Ernest Welch.

SGT Lester Romans Back From Overseas
Technical Sergeant Lester Romans, son of Mr. and Mrs. B F Romans of Comanche, is home on furlough until August 31 after 15 months in the Southwest Pacific. He has 105 points but is not seeking discharge and will report to Fort Sam Houston for re assignment.

In Memory of J. R. Davenport
An obituary note for James Robert Davenport born December 27 1861 in Independence County Arkansas. He married Virginia Suddith in 1885 and had seven children. two survive Rev. R. H. Davenport Comanche and Mrs A C Jones Amarillo. He lived in Comanche for 30 years ran a rooming house and grocery store served soldiers in WWI. He died July 25 peacefully.

Funeral Rites Held For John D. Couch
Funeral services for John D. Couch 76 were held at the First Baptist Church of Comanche with Rev. E G Gregory Jr officiating. Interment followed in Mercer's Gap Cemetery. Survivors include nine children 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren along with two brothers. Out of town attendees listed from Abilene Cisco Stamford and other Texas towns.

Father of Comanche County AAA chief dies at Hamilton home
L. E. Pierson age 78 retired stock farmer died Sunday at his Hamilton home after a long illness. Burial was Monday at Gen try's Mill. He was father of E. L. Pierson Comanche administrative officer of the Comanche County AAA. Lt and Mrs Wilburn Daniel and their baby of Langley Field Virginia visited here with his parents.
