The Comanche County Livestock Association will hold its annual membership meeting and barbecue at the tabernacle in Lake Eanes Park on Friday at 5:00 p.m. August 10. Five directors will be elected and a second vice president chosen. C. M. Caraway retires as president. C. M. Albin becomes president. A round table discussion follows the address. The association invites soldiers sailors and WACs on furlough and all WWII veterans in Comanche County to attend as guests.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Comanche for John Daniel Couch 78 a prominent retired Mercers Gap area farmer who died suddenly at his daughter’s home. Rev E G Gregory Jr led the rites with interment at Mercer’s Gap Cemetery Pallbearers named from Mercer's Gap and Comanche County. Couch born October 11 1868 in Texas lived 45 years in Comanche County and was a Baptist and Mason member.
