The revival meeting at the Baptist Church began Friday night with Rev. Harlin of Stephenville assisting Rev. Hamilton. Invitations are extended to all to attend. The notice lists numerous local residents and visitors in the area over recent days and weeks.
Hub A. Anderson 83 a longtime Sipe Springs merchant died Sunday night July 27 at his daughter Mrs Charles Lewis home. He had been bedfast seven months and funeral services were held July 28 at Sipe Springs Baptist Church. Burial in Sipe Springs Cemetery. He was born June 16 1869 in Bremond Robertson County and married Leona Burns in 1890 in Canton Van Zandt County. They lived in Canton until 1909 then San Angelo and Sipe Springs from 1913. He operated a grocery store in Sipe Springs retiring in 1929. He moved to Comanche after his wife died in 1948.
A backyard supper hosted by Mr and Mrs Jean Rachels on Aug 4 honored cousins Mr and Mrs Alton Preston of Carlsbad New Mexico. Attendees included numerous Preston and related families from Weatherford Comanche Sipe Springs and nearby towns. Visitors also attended a funeral in the area with attendees from Canton Ennis Rog ers Gatesville Stephenville and De Leon.
