Barret Herefords Enter 1952 Illinois State Fair Show

Southern Killed in Wreck Near Shawn

T L Southern 27 of Shreveport Louisiana visiting the Grimes family Comanche was killed almost instantly Tuesday night in a wreck near Shawn. Jane Dunn Comanche beauty operator was slightly injured and hospitalized with shock and bruises but released Thursday. Leonard Grimes Comanche and Sue Prazier De Leon accompanied them. no others injured. Funeral services set for Friday in Shreveport. Southern had just received a Navy discharge after eight years service. he was the car driver.

Miss Allie Steele a 45 year old Comanche woman was stricken with polio Wednesday morning at her home. After initial treatment by a local physician she was rushed to Abilene by ambulance and admitted to the Hendrix Memorial Hospital polio ward.
