Nebraska Supreme Court to hear varied cases next week

Lincoln Nebraska Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on reinstating Chadron State College’s one man foreign language department the validity of the speed limit law and whether poker chess and checkers are games of skill not chance. The cases involve Chadron State College faculty Dudley Chase a speed limit provision and a gambling case with Indoor Recreation Enterprises challenging Lancaster County.

Two Albion youths killed in Nebrask a highway crash

In the early hours of Saturday near Albion Nebraska two 17 year old Albion residents James Beierman and Nancy Karges were killed when Beierman’s car was rear ended on Highway 14. Five others were injured one remaining in Boone County Hospital.

Honorary FHA members cited at district LY session

The Future Homemakers of America met for the District LY convention at Lakeview High School. Diane Donnelly of Genoa presided as president and Mrs. Darlene Nicholson of Schuyler served as district adviser. Highlights included naming two slot-of-acc LTC members Kathy Kinzer Wilke of Columbus and Nicholson of Schuyler. Two state candidates were chosen to be elected in the spring. Several competitions were announced with Lakeview winning the Yearbook plaque, followed by Newman Grove and Butler.

Two Weeks Left to Re Register in County

The Platte County Election Commissioner's office reminds voters two weeks remain to re register under Nebraska statutes. Officials report about one third of recipients already re registered using the required forms while two thirds still must complete the process. Mrs Wilken notes special arrangements on the court house first floor to speed registration with office hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday including noon hour.

Visa trouble clouds Nossa return to U S practice

Lincoln attorney Perry described Nossa's claim that he was tricked into returning to Colombia after a visa rejection by the U S Embassy in Bogota. Curtis sought State Department help as officials check on the case while Nossa had been practicing in Osceola with Dr. Clarence Davis and had about half the patient load before departure.

J A company meetings set

The iot meetings of the newly Tarmark Junior Achievement companies are scheduled for tonight and Tuesday. Students who were unable to attend the organizational session may still attend the company meetings. The manufacturing company sponsored by Fleischer Manufacturing will meet at 7 pm tonight at Fleischer's. The publishing company sponsored by the Pxwice Seoul will meet at 4 pm Tuesday afternoon at the Sout office. The radio company will meet at KTTT radio at 4 30 Tuesday, and the Burton Dickinson sponsored manufacturing company will convene at the main BD plant at 7 Tuesday night.

Ford proposal sparks House panel clash over intelligence aid

Rep Oils G Pike a NY head of the House intelligence committee said President Ford's secrecy limits would halt the probe as Rep Robert McClory Dlinois opposed the stance noting substantial progress toward resolution. Colby partially declassified Vietnam Tet materials to the panel amid Senate hearings on misuse of the IRS. Field said White House accords limit disclosures to protect agents and sources.

Rain Likely Tonight Into Tuesday Across Panhandle

A cold front moving into northwest Nebraska brings scattered clouds and a chance of rain tonight and Tuesday. Temperatures warming to the upper 60s and low 70s this afternoon with overnight lows around the mid 40s east and upper 40s west. Morning lows ranged from 29 at North Platte to 43 at Omaha, with light scattered showers reported in several towns.
