KC135 Air Tanker Crashes Near Alpena Killing 15
Fifteen of twenty crew members died when a U S Air Force KC135 airtanker crashed and exploded in a wooded swamp near Alpena Michigan during a routine training flight from K I Sawyer to Offutt Air Force Base. Five others were injured four seriously as investigators began probing the cause.
