Judge rules Schuyler violated open meetings law in land deal
District Judge John C. Whitehead ruled the City of Schuyler violated the Nebraska Open Meetings Law and notice requirements during two March sessions. The ruling voids actions tied to a $504,400 land purchase of 252 acres connected to Langeminer-Wagner Co. and blocks further city actions from those sessions. Pokorny, who sued after being excluded from a closed session, says Wagner Mills Inc. president influenced the council and that the land was overvalued. An Oct. 3 hearing was scheduled on related matters.
