A unique Saturday picnic in Columbus aims to reunite Vietnamese residents now in a new home. About 130 Vietnamese doctors and families, plus sponsors, will attend the Holiday Inn event with games and prizes for children, starting at 1 p.m. rain or shine.
A 19 year old with a Fremont address was captured around 11 a.m. in a corn field about 20 miles east of Schuyler after a Tuesday night motorcycle incident. Police, state patrol, and volunteers aided in a two hour search before the suspect was taken to the Colfax County Courthouse for questioning.
In downtown Columbus authorities implement a new ordinance with one way alleys between 12th and 14th Streets. Signs designate eastbound traffic from 12th to 13th and westbound from 13th to 14th, with police ticketing noncompliant drivers and loading zones limited to business patrons.
