Nebraska to test federal child support plan in four counties
Nebraska Welfare Department announced a pilot of the federally mandated child support program in Adams Hall Sarpy and Scotts Bluff to test procedures before wider rollout in Douglas and Lancaster counties in January and phased in across remaining counties by February or March. The program requires mothers receiving aid to assign child support rights to the state and cooperate in locating absent fathers and collecting payments. It expands eligibility to middle class mothers and ties state distributions to court-ordered support. Counties will receive incentives from collected sums, and three full-time regional attorneys will handle child support work. War Mothers election of officers planned for Albion meeting on November 4, 1975.
