Cleveland mayoral runoff set as Kucinich, Feighan top Perk

Three term Cleveland mayor Ralph J. Perk failed to advance after a nonpartisan primary. Maverick Democrat Dennis Kucinich and State Rep. Edward Feighan led with 40,003 and 39,724 votes, while Perk trailed at 36,389. Feighan benefited from black community support and backing from City Council President George Forbes, amid feisty party maneuvering.
