Stable Water Levels Expected on Missouri River for Six Weeks

The Army Corps of Engineers said duck hunters should see a steady Missouri River water level over the next six weeks. Releases from Gavins Point Reservoir near Yankton have stayed between 20,000 and 34,000 cubic feet per second, keeping river stages from Yankton to Omaha generally under one foot of variation. Unless rainfall surprises, this pattern should persist through the navigation season end in late November, though a fall shift could gradually lower levels by up to a foot in portions from Yankton-Sioux City to Sioux City-Omaha.
