Albion residents attended the annual Albion Country Club dinner with about 40 women participating. After golf and dinner, Mrs. Robert Ashburn led a brief business meeting and Mrs. James Tox presented the secretary treasurer report. Golf Pro William Fox awarded trophies for the summer club tournament. Championship flight leaders were Mrs. Luther Haas, Mrs. Vi Sullivan, and Mrs. William Ashburn. Nebraska's August commercial red meat production reached 243 million pounds, up 2 percent from a year earlier per the State Federal Division of Agricultural Statistics. First eight months total stood at 2.110 billion pounds, vs 2.073 billion last year.
