Nebraska employers may face lower unemployment taxes next year

Nebraska Labor Commissioner Gerald Chizek said a rate cut is possible but not certain after a council meeting discussed July benefit payouts eight million dollars below the prior year. Public hearing on December 3 will set next year’s contribution rates. current 12 percent reserve ratio may drop from last year’s 8.5 percent.
