Hike in natural gas rates looms
Columbus and 36 other Congas served Nebraska communities supplied by Northern Natural Gas Company will have increased natural gas rates beginning Dec 27 1977. The rate adjustment of about 2 per month for the average residential heating customer covers the rise in cost of firm and supplemental gas service. Northern's filing with FERC allows recovery of the field cost increase under the Purchase Gas Adjustment. Northern will continue to seek adequate continuous gas supply at the lowest reasonable cost.

Former agent backs authenticity of Korea plan memo
Washington House subcommittee released a 24 page internal South Korean CIA memo outlining plots for a $750,000 intelligence operation aimed at outright subversion in the White House Congress and U.S. military and diplomatic circles. A former Korean intelligence agent testified to its authenticity, saying it was drafted by the CIA station chief in Washington in 1975 and approved in Seoul. Fraser said the plan, costing about $750,000, targeted the United States in 1976 with specific names and organizations redacted to protect privacy.
