Sign of peace and political squabble in Lebanon amid Syrian peacekeepers

Dry weather hurts wheat as harvests near finish in Nebraska

Nebraska farmers completed much of the harvest as dry conditions slowed winter wheat growth. Topsoil moisture remained short in all 93 counties and subsoil moisture short in 99 percent. Wheat was rated fair in 67 percent, good in 14 percent, excellent in 6 percent, and poor in 13 percent, with best prospects in the south central district. Over 95 percent of corn had been harvested, about 10 percent ahead of normal.
