Nebraska forms target corporate farming under takeover fears
Nebraska Secretary of State Allen Beermann announced distribution of forms to all corporations involved in food production. The six area forms require the corporation name and home office, total acres and locations, officers and directors and shareholders with 10 percent or more, the percentage of directors and officers who are aliens, and whether any farm residents own 10 percent or more of voting stock. Forms must be filed by January 1, 1976, with penalties up to a $1000 fine for noncompliance.

Air drying preferred for grain in Nebraska bins
University of Nebraska Extension engineer Norm Teter says natural air drying is practical for grain under 21 percent moisture using bins with drying floors and air flow about one cubic foot per minute per bushel. For 20 to 22 percent moisture, partial heating may be needed, followed by cooling and final natural drying to improve quality and reduce LP gas use.
