Conference delays action on Sooners
The Dig Eight Conference postponed action Friday in the football recruiting irregularities case involving the University of Oklahoma. Commissioner Charles M Nevias noted the investigation would continue with faculty representatives and athletic directors meeting in Chicago on August 7. Oklahoma officials announced a yearlong ineligibility for Kerry Jackson and Mike Phillips over transcript irregularities and the resignation of Dill Michael. The conference will complete its investigation by August while pursuing other agenda items such as officiating reforms and potential basketball exchanges with Yugoslavia.
