Step up debate on cutting funds for U S forces

The Senate planned to intensify debate on halting money for all U S combat forces in Indochina. McGovern Expands Lead in Nebraska Presidential Primary

AP report notes Senator George McGovern leading in Nebraska with about 38 percent of votes tallied, Humphrey close at 36 percent and Wallace at 14 percent as McGovern builds momentum for upcoming contests. Los Angeles man indicted on seven counts in Nebraska

Federal grand jury indicted David M. Treatman also known as Dave Davis of Los Angeles on seven counts for using the mail to convey obscene material. He allegedly mailed ads to residents of Cozad and Lyons and sent a deck of playing cards, ads, a book and films to Omaha. The case carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine per count. The same grand jury charged three counts of unlawful discharge into the Missouri River against Towa Beef Processors Inc. of Dakota City for alleged violations of federal environmental laws.
