Mother-daughter Banquet Held in Creston Church

Members of LEW of St Peters Lutheran Church hosted a mother daughter banquet in Creston with blue and white tables and yellow rose centerpieces. Baccalaureate and Graduation Planned at Aquinas High School

Baccalaureate exercises will be held for 76 graduating seniors at Aquinas High School Wednesday at p.m. The Eucharist will be celebrated by area priests with Msgr. Liska as principal celebrant and Rev. Frank Hoelek as guest violinist. An awards convocation follows Mass and graduation exercises Sunday at 8 p.m. in Aquinas auditorium with Msgr. Lisko giving invocation and Fr. Herbek presiding.

Miller named to reformatory post in Nebraska

Lincoln AP Spencer Scott Miller already on the Nebraska Penal Complex staff was named associate warden in charge of the Nebraska Men’s Reformatory. He will succeed Ronald Jones who resigned for a correctional post in Florida. Miller, 32, began as a parole officer and rose through the reception and diagnostic center, training roles, and other posts. James Shadduck will replace him as associate warden in charge of programs. Additional staff shifts aim to streamline operations and place personnel where they are most effective. Birth noted: Albion, Gary Brohn and wife welcomed an 8 pound 12 ounce son on May 7.

About 75 persons attended the May Fellowship Day program in Albion. The theme was Behold the Woman with Rev. Wanda Clausen as guest speaker.
