NPPD to Protest FEA Plan on Fuel Switch at Sheldon
Nebraska Public Power District officials said they would protest the Federal Energy Administration proposal requiring oil or gas fired plants to switch to coal. Spokesman Roger Hill said the FEA would force Sheldon station at Hallam to stop using gas by July 1, noting the 225 MW plant currently runs on coal and gas and is being converted to coal with low sulfur content at a cost of about $2 million.

The Viet Cong rulers of South Vietnam asked the United States to bring home all Vietnamese it says were forcibly evacuated, accusing U S forces of forcing about 80,000 people to flee.
