Omaha Tornado Relief Effort Gathers Massive Support

Nebraska faces a disaster as Omaha reels from a Tuesday tornado that killed three and caused about 500 million dollars in damage. Ford declared disaster area. Butz designated Douglas County for emergency food stamps. City crews divided the debris cleared zones, with 740 volunteers and 500 Red Cross volunteers aiding.

Turkish judge orders six servicemen stand trial

A Turkish district judge ordered five American airmen and an Air Force woman from Incirlik air base to stand trial for possession of drugs for personal use. If guilty, they face 3 to 5 years in prison and fines. They were arrested after a collision with a taxi on April 29. five milligrams of hashish were found. Defendants identified as Thomas R. Marshall Jack L. Garber Garry L. Milbrandt Gregory Baker Curtis A. Maonna and Cynthia Henley. The five airmen returned to Adana prison. Henley remains free awaiting hearing. Trial date to be set later.

Wholesale prices rise in April as inflation cools

Americans left behind in Saigon amid Viet Cong takeover

UPI dispatches report that a 27 ship South Vietnamese naval squadron surrendered to the Viet Cong with amnesty promises. Some American businessmen were left behind as Saigon fell, while others were released from jails and diplomats evacuated. Security remained informal and Independence Palace drew thousands for celebrations.

Columbus Council Adopts Library Pension Eligibility Plan
