Education body to seek deficiency appropriation
The Nebraska Unicameral Education Committee voted to avoid a special session and to seek a deficiency appropriation in 1977 to cover 2.5 million dollars in missing state aid to local schools. About 75 thousand dollars of interest would be available to districts with no cash reserves. Governor Exon supported the deficiency request, noting no 2.5 million exists in the general fund.

Deputies Nab Two Chasers in Platte County Incidents
Two men face charges after separate pursuits by county Deputy LeRoy Waddell. Rick Brashear, 26, Newton Kansas, is charged with unlawful flight to avoid arrest while operating a motor vehicle. Schuyler Council approves 8 percent city salary hike
Schuyler City Council approves an 8 percent pay raise for all full time city workers in the 1976 77 budget. The council sets $254 760 for the general fund and about $120 000 for Bond Retirement.
