Bradley R. Busler son of Mr and Mrs Robert E Busler of Columbus Nebraska graduated from the U S Military Academy Preparatory School at Fort Belvoir Virginia and received an appointment to the U S Military Academy at West Point New York The prep school trains in academics military aptitude and physical fitness for academy entry.
Mrs. Vanetta J. Bauer age 23 of Lincoln and her 13-year-old sister Rebecca Keller died after a two car collision on U S 77 north of Marysville. Passenger Lary Lechtenberg 24 of Geneva Neb and another passenger were hospitalized.
Washington reports that adults and children on welfare and most Medicaid recipients must supply Social Security numbers or apply for them to continue receiving aid. HEW says the rule, required by 1972 and 1974 laws, takes effect Tuesday, with specifics varying by state and program.
Two Omaha suspects Mackie Smothers and Leonard Coleman were arrested near Russell on I-70 after an armed service station robbery and abduction of six people in Kansas and Council Bluffs. Colorado family members and two Nebraska women were among the hostages. no injuries reported.

In Hordville Nebraska a 19 year old Jerry Youngland died and 19 year old Gerald L Alms was injured when the car they rode in sped over 100 mph during a chase. Alms was hospitalized in Aurora with condition not released by officials.
Paris police arrested two men for scaling the 656 foot Mont Paradiise Tower using mountain picks and ropes. Occupants complained the climbers damaged the facade by sticking picks into window frames. The pair said they climbed the building because it is there.
A draft Platte River Basin water resources management plan and three year study report by Study Director Carroll Hamon outlines structural and nonstructural measures. Public review meetings begin July 8 in Grand Island and continue through July 16 in six Nebraska towns to gather input.

Police investigated nine weekend crashes with several injuries. A bicycle rider, Gregory Hovie, 7, was hurt at 21st Street and 18th Avenue with Lowell Elliot. In a 8th Street and 23rd Avenue collision Donna Boswell and passengers Blanche Smock and Leonard Boswell were injured. Scott Wagner was uninjured. Other incidents include hit and run at 14th Street Hinky Dinky lot and damage totals ranging from 60 to 400 dollars. Platte County deputies logged three injury free crashes nearby with minor property damage.
Premier designate Rashid Karami formed a six man government to halt Lebanon's violence as Beirut endured a second week of clashes with rockets mortars and machineguns. Police say over 150 dead 500 wounded last weekend with totals this crisis surpassing 1500 dead or injured. Outgoing minister Kennan said the new cabinet would be announced formally later.
