More study ordered on Mid-State Irrigation Project
A U.S. interior department inquiry into the Mid-State Irrigation Project in central Nebraska calls for further study. The Geological Survey will evaluate wildlife impacts on the Platte River as Fish and Wildlife oppose diverting water to reservoirs, while Reclamation supports the plan. Additional research is needed on water flow levels and bypass needs to sustain wet meadows and sandbars during spring.
