Tornado blamed for fatal Nebraska accident
Severe thunderstorms and a tornado ripped through western Nebraska late Wednesday, killing one person near Arnold in Custer County and injuring two others. A pickup was blown off a highway four miles west of Arnold. Thelma G Schwind 52 from Callaway died at Callaway Hospital. Injured included her husband William 64 and daughter Patricia 31. Tornadoes damaged farms and knocked down power lines across Lincoln Dawson Custer and Logan counties. A funnel near Gothenburg damaged buildings and trees.
