Eric E. Mentzner aged 19 of Rural Ericson drowned during a 3 am swimming party on Goedeken's Lake south of Columbus in Butler County. His body was recovered about three hours later in 10 to 15 feet of water by Butler County Sheriff Leo Meister after a joint drag effort by Butler and Platte county officers that lasted 1% hours.
