Nebraska U.S. grant funds education program for minorities
The University of Nebraska received a $100,000 one year grant from HEW to aid low income and racial minority students. It will support about 300 black students 100 low income white students 40 Mexican American students 20 American Indian students and five Oriental American students with counseling tutoring and reading improvement. No direct financial aid will be given to students. The program adds four full time and several part time staff. Sleeping water birds paddle with one foot to stay in place.
