Patulski wins premier college lineman award

Notre Dame All-America defensive end Walt Patulski, 6-6, 280 pounds from Liverpool New York, received the Vince Lombardi Trophy as the outstanding college lineman. He led Notre Dame in varsity games, beating nominees from Nebraska LSU and Nebraska. Proceeds from the dinner benefit the American Cancer Society. Lombardi died in 1970.
