Feed grain prices likely to stay weak in 1977
University of Nebraska economist Dr. Michael Turner says total U.S. feed grain supplies will rise 5 percent in 1977 and use will grow 2 percent, lifting October 1977 feed grain reserves to about 22.7 million short tons. He cites larger beginning stocks, a bigger 1976 crop, and offsetting lower exports due to global production, with cattle feeding boosting use and corn prices stabilizing near $2 to $2.30 per bushel into spring planting.
