Ford meets to discuss airport bombing report

President Ford planned Friday talks with Transportation Secretary Coleman and other officials on a report about the LaGuardia Airport bombing in New York. White House aide Nessen said Ford did not know who was responsible or the motive. Eleven killed and 75 injured as a powerful bomb exploded in an airport locker. Attendees included Deputy AG Harold Tyler and FAA administrator John McLucas. Ford planned a veto of a bill expanding picketing rights in construction and had not decided on a White House liaison for his campaign. He worked on a Farm Bureau address and spent New Year’s Day at the White House. His cabinet was largely unavailable abroad. Labor Secretary Dunlop’s resignation talk arose over the veto. Ford’s daughter Susan called from Italy during Christmas.
