O Neill man dies in early morning house fire
Claude Neal, 58, of O Neill, died in a residence fire discovered about 3 a.m. A policeman attempted rescue but flames blocked entry. Local authorities and the State fire marshal investigated but found no cause for the blaze.

Two Die in Norfolk Bedroom Fire
Two young men identified as Robert Beaudette and David Meier died of smoke inhalation in a Norfolk house fire that gutted the interior. Fire Chief Reeves said the blaze likely started in the southeast bedroom, with a deputy state marshal to assist in the investigation. Off‑duty firefighter Hubert Netterton survived smoke inhalation after finding the scene.
