Rescue on Carp Lake Ends Safely for Man and Dog
Schuyler Officer John Gardner and Colfax Deputy Richard Kruse conducted a unique ice rescue at Carp Lake after Ed Hajek’s dog broke through. Hajek slid on his stomach with a rope tied to a branch but fell through, pulling both him and his pet to safety as rescuers pulled them from water up to Hajek’s head.
