Columbus Noon Lions Club sponsors a youth talent contest on Friday April 9 at 6 30 p m in Platte College Fine Arts Theatre. Four divisions elementary nine and under junior 10 12 intermediate 13 15 and senior 16 18 award first and second place trophies with winners advancing to district and state contests. No admission charged. Ralph Eickhoff is general chairman.

United Press International reports a cooling trend arriving in Nebraska on Thursday after a day of pleasant weather. Lows overnight ranged from 16 in North Platte to 33 in Grand Island while Sunday highs varied from 59 in Chadron to 44 in North Omaha.
