Middlemen Margins Expanding Again in 1975 Farm Study
UPI reports USDA findings show food margins narrowed in spring but are widening again in 1975. Farm-to-retail spreads may rise faster than farm prices, with farm shares slated to climb in the third quarter due to cattle hogs and poultry gains. Overall middlemen's margins expected to stay above 1974 levels, while bakery and processed foods keep spreads high.
