Platte County Court held four arraignments and several sentencing actions on traffic violations on Friday. Defendants include Leonard Smithy Madison pleading not guilty to driving offenses, Jayne Shotoski St. Edward pled guilty to insufficient funds, mechanistic Heickes pled not guilty on all counts, Brian Foutch Columbus pled guilty to destruction of property, and Richard Farnum Columbus received six months probation and a restricted license. Additional fines and probation terms were imposed for speeding and related infractions across multiple defendants from Columbus and surrounding towns.
Fourteen accidents were investigated by Columbus Police with one injury. Dorene Hawser was treated for a bruised knee and arm after a two car crash at 1357 3nd Avenue Friday involving James Kosch. Other incidents included several parked car and street location collisions with damages ranging from $75 to $750.
