Valley firm Valmont Industries laid off 82 production workers and 20 office staff amid low farm prices. Earlier this summer about 235 employees were dismissed. Tear Gas Flares as Police Fire on Crowd in Cape Town
Police in Cape Town fired tear gas into a crowd estimated at about 100 clergy and social workers plus the wife of an American diplomat protesting a squatter camp clearance.
