Suspected diversion of bomb grade uranium in 1960s PA plant
Congressional investigators say strong suspicions exist that up to 134 pounds of bomb grade uranium may have been diverted perhaps to Israel from the Apollo Pennsylvania plant in the 1960s. ERDA head Robert Fri disputes claims of diversion while noting no proof exists. Apollo inventory discrepancies fuel continued inquiry into whether any bomb material was stolen or miscounted.

House bill disaster for electric utilities, says Edison Institute
W. Donhany Crawford of the Edison Electric Institute called the House energy plan a disaster. He warned it would cost utilities about 63 billion dollars and push consumer bills higher, likening the impact to post embargo price rises. He cited staged shifts away from natural gas, a 14 billion tax on air and gas use for electricity, and 9 billion for new meters for 75 million customers.
