Floyd opens five stroke lead at Masters after two rounds
Ray Floyd posted a six under par 66 to reach 131 after 36 holes at Augusta, breaking a Masters record and opening a five shot lead over Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus shot 69 to reach 132, while Hubert Green and others trailed with solid rounds as wind and firm greens shaped a tough day. Arnold Palmer slumped to an 81 and failed to make the cut, amid windy, fast greens that challenged approach shots.
