Rosenburg and St Ansgar church mark Rosenborg history

The Rosenborg area near Lindsay features St Ansgar church founded in 1884 with dwindling membership. The community, once lively with Danish holidays on June 5 and the Fourth of July, faded as families moved away. A gymnasium hall built in 1907 serves gatherings. A Danish peddler Jorgan Juul symbolized old Rosenborg’s ties, while missionary Ansgar, born in 801 in France, linked Denmark and Sweden through faith.
