State's Evidence in Rebuttal in Granbery Trial

The State's rebuttal evidence opened in the Granbery case with Mrs. Washington Long, mother of the deceased, testifying that the defendant showed no affection for his wife or child. Her testimony contradicted the defendant's statements, describing his irritation when his wife was ill and recounting Katie May's remark that Harry treated her as property. The court sustained the objection to questions about a wife's feelings but indicated it might admit further evidence on similar lines.
