Colfax High faced postponements after a tree caused a power outage and smoke advisories halted Friday events. The Falcons moved three Lincoln games to Monday and prepared for a 3-0 PVL clash at Oakmont, while Oakmont’s homecoming limited rescheduling.
Colfax dominates Lincoln in a 45-14 home win as quarterback Kevin Kleppe passes for 220 yards with 16 of 22 completions and receiver Kris Ballenger amasses 149 receiving yards including a 46-yard TD. Running back Eric Snyder adds 93 yards and three scores while Colfax improves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 PVL. The Falcons travel to Roseville to face Oakmont next, with kickoff at 7 30 p m.
The Colfax Falcons game against Lincoln Zebras was cancelled due to poor air quality, a fate not new to Colfax football. In Oct 1962, a four day Sacramento Valley storm dumped 21.36 inches on Colfax, forcing postponements and a Nov 17 makeup win over Wheatland that helped Del Oro challenge for the league title.
