Weimar Institute marks 85 years of health and healing
The Weimar Institute near Colfax celebrated 85 years of health care and education, tracing its origins to 1919 when the Weimar Joint Sanatorium opened for tuberculosis patients. The facility evolved through name changes and later Seventh-day Adventist ownership in 1977, hosting Weimar College and wellness programs. An open house featured ceremonial rites, guided trails, and memories from former patients and staff, including Dr. Theodore Bacharach and Dr. William Fair.
