Nevada City Winery’s 2001 Sierra Foothills Zinfandel earns Gold at the California State Fair and Calaveras County Fair, plus Silver at El Dorado. A blend of 83% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, 2% Grenache, aged 12 months in American oak, 707 cases produced, priced at $15. Basement Wines owner Lee Shahin notes local interest rising.
