PSCO deputy Mark Weisman serves Colfax High School as the School Resource Officer. A 1986 Orange County start, he moved to Placer in 1988 and rose through the Jail Division and patrol. Placer Union High School District Superintendent Bart O'Brien asked the Colfax City Council to substantially reduce sewer charges for Colfax High, arguing the district is billed on an ADA of 980 with 98 EDUs while current usage warrants about 39 EDUs. He noted the school’s ADA was 910 last year and urged no additional fee increases.

Colfax City Council met October 28 at 7:02 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The agenda covered an Urgency Ordinance governing sewer connections to the Wastewater Plant, staff recommendations to hire a Grade II part time plant operator, wastewater rate adjustments, and continuations to November 25 for fee structure approval. Also approved demolition review thresholds, drainage easement dedication, a chamber report reschedule, and staffing moves for an economic development recruiter. Adjourned 11:30 p.m.
