Fast Fridays Speedway Drives Auburn Friday Night Thrill

Dave Joiner leads Fast Fridays at Gold Country Fairgrounds where crowds pack the dirt track every Friday. Gates open 6 30 p m with racing at 8 p m as motorcycles scream from 0 to 60 in three seconds. The event, a community staple since 1996, features Joiner and his brother Mark running the show with infield crew members and long time staff. Joiner also serves with AMA bodies and promotes a family friendly scene amid locals and visiting riders.

Van Gogh Expedition Artist Delong Shares European Journey

Sandra Delong of Colfax on an eight member Vincent Van Gogh Artist Expedition in 2003 marking the 150th birthday of Van Gogh. The trip visited the Vincent Van Gogh Museum Kroller Muller Museum in Amsterdam Van Gogh birth place in Holland and Bouchival near Versailles. Delong describes impressions from the Seine banks and Arles final critique with master artist. She will speak at the Pioneer Arts Club meeting September 8 at the Center for the Arts Grass Valley and her September exhibition will feature European and Scandinavian works.
