Summer sewing camp ignites lifelong skills and dreams
Ivey teaches five girls to sew over two weeks with daily sessions. The fashion show showcased purses hats and pumpkins as the girls gained pattern layout pinning basting and topstitching skills. They plan to start a line called Arcey J's and make junior girls clothes.

Fire Prevention money applicants sought in Placer County
Placer County Supervisors will distribute up to 85000 in federal HR 2389 funds to agencies or nonprofit programs to develop fire prevention plans or educate homeowners in high hazard areas. Projects include residential and public facility fire inspections and multi jurisdictional mitigation planning. Contact Leslie Hobson at 889-4026 for the packet. The Sierra Vista Center hosts Summer in the Park in Colfax with free arts and crafts games and pool daily 2 to 5 pm at Lions Park led by Monica Rimnes. The program, funded by a Bianchini-Sierra Vista grant, is free for ages 7 to 17. more signups improve chances for next summer’s grant.

Hospice bricks offered to honor loved ones at Garden Healing Garden
