The game warden notes dove season will close at sunset October 30. Weather caused an on again off again season with days of plentiful birds and days of scarcity. Most birds were in good shape, some in poor condition near the season’s start.
The Clifton Record states that corrections to reflections on character will be published upon notice. Obituaries, cards of thanks, memoriam notices, and charged announcements incur advertising rates of 3 cents per word. The publishers limit liability for errors to the amount received for the advertisement.
The Bosque County notice outlines duck season from November 25 to January 3 1965 with a four bird daily limit and goose season from October 31 to January 13 1965 with a five bird daily limit. Hunters are advised to obtain the federal regulation brochure and to see the Game Warden for legal bag limits. antlerless permits distribution is scheduled November 5 and 6 at the county courthouse from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with additional days possible for new permit areas.

Clifton ladies join the Central Texas Zone LWML fall rally at Trinity Lutheran Church Waco. The event opened at 2:30 PM and ended with a candlelight service at 6 PM followed by light refreshments for 87 attendees. Rev. Vernon Bahr led devotion. Rev. Lambert Loock spoke on Nigeria missions. Clifton delegates included Mesdames Albrecht Schneider Oswald Fehler Wiede Forson Golden Schlegel and Meridian’s Schlegel. Immanuel Clifton will host next year’s rally in October 1965.

About 200 people attended an open house at Trinity Lutheran Fellowship Hall in Clifton on Sunday October 11 to honor Reverend and Mrs Walter T Gigstad on their 50th wedding anniversary. Daughters Gordon Smith Gatesville James A Harvick II Midland William H Martin and Martin Dehlinger attended. The reception featured a three tier wedding cake with golden bells and number 50, yellow and white chrysanthemums, and a bronze samovar for coffee. The couple received corsages and boutonnieres, prayer led by Reverend Erwin Knitt, gifts from the church, and guests registered in a guest book. Reverend Gigstad previously led the church here and now serves as chaplain at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home.

Mr and Mrs E O Schoenrock of Levelland spent the weekend with relatives in Clifton including Fred and Charlie Ludwig. They visited in Waco Granbury and with Billy Pederson and daughters. Mrs Virgie Olsen and Mrs C Tisdale visited Clifton and Dallas families. Kelley stayed with grandparents as Lane family planned further travel to Dallas. The Clifton Record advertises columnar sheets for bookkeeping.
